Journey of the Fool
An Introduction to the TarotWhether reading for yourself or friends, the tarot is a fun tool that offers insight into situations life is throwing your way. Most tarot decks are composed of 78 cards, the major and minor arcane. Much like playing cards, the minor arcana contains four suits – pentacles, cups, swords and wands. These cards represent the day to day circumstances that influence our life. The major arcana, also known as the Journey of the Fool, represent major life experiences a person goes through while moving towards enlightenment.
This two-day workshop is an in-depth introduction to the tarot. During the first night, we will discuss the history of the tarot as well as become acquinted with the four suits that compose the minor arcana. On Saturday, we will walk with the Fool on his path to enlightenment, taking an intensive look at the each of the cards. As we take the journey with the Fool we will focus on the similarities and differences as each suit progresses. At the end of the day, there will be an introduction to various reading types with an opportunity to practice.
Bring your favorite
tarot deck, a yoga mat or blanket, and wear comfortable clothes. During
this
workshop, not only will you be discovering the cards but you’ll also
discover a
little more about yourself.
